About
Max Bennett is an Australian artist living and working in New York. His practice, begun in 2018, spans painting, drawing, sculpture, film and performance.
Trained in fine art in Paris, Max first became known for large-scale photorealistic works in ink and pencil. In 2026 he turned to oil painting during a residency with Ross Bleckner in East Hampton, a shift that now sits at the centre of his work.
Max has exhibited in the United States, Australia, France and Mexico, and his work is held in private collections internationally. He currently has work on view in Mexico City and East Hampton.
